Cannot read emails in Windows Life mail
hello:
I'm having difficulty reading my emails in Windows Life Mail. Latter will open, but when I click on each of the individual emails to read, nothing happens at all -- absolutely unresponsive. Same applies when I click on Junk, Drafts, sent, deleted etc. This is the first time that such a weird thing is happening. Can anyone please offer some suggestions to resolve this issue? help is most appreciated. System details: XP Pro, SP3, Zonealarm free. |

Will I lose everything (addresses, emails etc) in the existing copy by doing
that? Windows Live Mail. Live, not Life. It has its own newsgroup to ask questions specific to that program: microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop |

Re: Cannot read emails in Windows Life mail
you shouldn't because
the emails are in a special database and by reinstalling, you would only be affecting the program files. incidentally, you may or may not know this, but outlook express parallels live mail in some ways. so if you can open o.e. and download your messages, they should be an exact copy of what had been downloaded in live mail. in addition to the above, you can open live mail and export/backup all your messages and then reimport them if necessary. it is a little tricky but go to file>export>messages. then it will ask you for a location, click browse> my documents. then click make new folder and create one that says my live mail then ok it. here is the tricky part because you need to be absolutely sure that your new "my live mail" is actually selected for the export. so you may have to bounce back to the prior screen then click on browse again and get your new folder to appear in the window. then export away.... using the o.e. and the live export, you will have two backups of your messages. -- db·´¯`·...¸><)))º> "tch" <tch@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:757AF8F2-354E-4C24-A952-A582A9057A5C@microsoft.com... > Will I lose everything (addresses, emails etc) in the existing copy by doing > that? > > "db.·.. ><))) ·>` .. ." wrote: > >> its actually "Live Mail". >> >> try reinstalling it. >> >> -- >> >> db·´¯`·...¸><)))º> >> >> >> "tch" <tch@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >> news:6460A727-86D7-4EC6-BC92-AD8AC0B3734F@microsoft.com... >> > hello: >> > I'm having difficulty reading my emails in Windows Life Mail.
