I have created a web page with some screen shots that will hopefully make it easy to understand the issue I am having. Thanks for your help! http://www.worxmart.com/xp.html Jeff |

On the new computer, go to Control Panel and open up the Administrative Tools folder. Double click on Local Security Policy. In the Local Security Settings console, click on the + sign next to Local Policies. Click on Security Options. In the right hand pane, double click on Interactive logon: Do not require CTRL + ALT + DEL. Select Disabled in the box that pops up. Click OK and close the Local Security Settings console. Now see what happens when you lock this computer. Note: You can accomplish the same goal by using any of the following procedures. Option 1. Go to Start -> Run and enter control userpasswords2 in the Open box. Click OK. In User Accounts, click on the Advance tab. In the Secure logon box, put a check mark in the box next to Require users to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete Option 2. Go to Start -> Run and enter gpedit.msc in the Open box. Click OK. In the Group Policy console, click on the + sign next to Windows Settings under Computer Configuration Click on the + sign next to Security Settings. Click on the + sign next to Local Policies. Click on Security Options. Right click on Interactive logon: Do not Require CTRL + ALT + DEL. Select Disabled. Option 3. Go to Start -> Run and enter regedit in the Open box. Click OK. Navigate to this registry key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\policies\system In the right hand pane, create a new DWORD Value named DisableCAD set to 0. Good luck Nepatsfan |
