Map Drive
I just installed Window XP Professional on my home computer - now I am not
able to use the CD drive. I can hear the that CD is is working but I think the drive is not mapped. I tried to map drive that displayed the dialog box with list of drives but the folder section is blank. What should I tyupe in that section to map the drive? |

The drive has to work before you can map it. "Mapping" requires file sharing to be installed and besides, it won't solve your defective drive. Fix the drive. |

Did you by chance have any drivers for that brand of CD drive? Most of them will work with generic driver, but many don't |

You might want to go into disk manager (right click My computer / Manage / Disk Manager) and make sure it has a drive label... -- + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + Chris Barnes AOL IM: CNBarnes chris-barnes@tamu.edu Yahoo IM: chrisnbarnes |
