Re: Restoring your backup files

Please help. (1)What backup software/system did you use? (2)Do you see the backup application/files on your desktop to where you originally backed up? (3)Did the "fixing" include a re-installation of your operating system (or did the fixer use Restore Discs) which you say is Windows XP? If 2's answer is "no", and 3's answer is "yes", it'd probably be better if someone more knowledgeable than I help you restore the backup. s |

Re: Restoring your backup files
I myself have not been familiar with doing backups. I really do not know
anything about it. I had to take im my comp for diagnostics and they had to fix the problems I was having and they reinstalled my windows. They asked me if I wanted to entirely wipe out my system or if I would like to have my stuff saved. I opted to save. I have a backup file saved to my desktop and what I would like to know is how I go about restoring the backup. Anyone please?? Please help. Ask whoever created the backup files. You need to know what program was used, and exactly what was backed up and how. |

Okay, so it does, so let US know what extension the file has. Of course, you could just call "them" to find out what THEY used to create the backup file. |

Re: Restoring your backup files
Think of it this way. You needed to have work done on your house so you
hired a company to pack all of your belongings into boxes and leave these in your living room. The work was completed on your house. Then you get on the phone and ask a set of strangers who have never seen your stuff tell you which boxes to look in and where to put everything. In other words " How the hell do we know? Ask the packers." -- Xandros "Kimberbum" <Kimberbum@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F9B36D33-8E44-442C-850F-E0719FB16F32@microsoft.com... >I myself have not been familiar with doing backups. Re: Restoring your backup files
He could begin with "Xandros" <arron.neus*remove*@gmailcom> wrote in message news:OO8qB9KFIHA.284@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Think of it this way. Or... he could at least tell us the extention of the files as a starting point, so we could suggest a program to try. Of course if he simply contacted the person who repaired his PC and ask them. Simply repeating "help help" isn't going to get anywhere. <snip> |
