Trying to connect to a shared printer
A number of new desktops were installed in my workplace. I tried connecting
from one of the new desktops to a shared printer in another office. When I go the ADD Printer function, and browse for a network or printer connected to another computer, nothing shows up. When I click on Microsoft Windows Network, there's a slight delay while it searches, but nothing shows up. |

RE: Trying to connect to a shared printer
Bob, I think even though you're on a network, you have to have the printer
drivers on your local PC -- Thanks, JTR "Bob" wrote: > A number of new desktops were installed in my workplace. They're all shared printers conncected to different computers. From most of the computers, you can see all of the printers, but from the newly installed computers, I can not add any of those printers. > > ---- > Crosspost, do not multipost http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm > How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 > How to Post http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm > __________________________________________________ _______________________________ > > > "Bob" <Bob@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:60CB605B-5C0C-4F44-BB9D-60F1764B34E9@microsoft.com... > >A number of new desktops were installed in my workplace.
