Using Mpegable to convert videos:
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_so...ble_x4_live.cfm 1. Open up MPEGABLE 2. Go to your first step and "Input File" by browsing to your desired file. 3. Step 2, your "Output File", leave it alone. It'll dump it in the same folder as your source. 4. Step 3, "Encoding Profile" is where you will apply your application compression. Since many of you have the 8100 I guess you can use "High quality file" if not then use "Motorola Devices" and hit "Apply Settings" 5. CLick on the "Image Preprocessing" tab. 6. Go to the Cropping/Resizing set up. 7. Under the "Absolute Size" box, choose QCIF (176x144) this is both the 8000 and the 8100's screen size. Hit OK. 8. Click on the "Video Encoding" tab. 9. Under "Video Bitrate", start it at 96kBit/s for now for most files. You can take it as high as you want but I don't go higher than 128kBit/s. It's just not necessary. 10. Click on the "Audio Encoding" tab. 11. Follow the same mentality for your video bitrate settings. It's all personal preference. For the sake of memory, don't go too high. 12. For "Channels", choose "Stereo". Just take advantage of those speakers despite what you might read out there. If the file's too big then dumb it down with "Mono". It cuts it down by almost 1/4. 13. Go back to "Basic I/O. 14. Step 4 is "Start Encoding", the red pill! 15. That's it for MPEGABLE. Once you become a master with the settings, then you can mess with them all you want. Make sure your videos are in AVI format. This makes it all a whole lot easier. |
