Poor print quality only *after* adding background or watermark
I am using Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional (version 7.0.9).
I am printing a Word document (Word 2002 SP3) to PDF using Acrobat. The Word document contains tables with borders on the cells. Printing to a printer directly from Word, the cell borders and text are crisp. After printing the Word document to PDF (using File | Print and choosing Adobe PDF as the printer) or converting to PDF (using Adobe PDF | Convert to Adobe PDF from the Word menu bar), and subsequently printing *that* PDF to the printer, the cell borders are crisp. However, after adding a Watermark or Background (tried both) of the word "ORIGINAL" in dark blue, 50% opacity, -2.4 inches from vertical center, and 2 inches from horizontal center, the cell borders and text are fuzzy when printed to the printer. By fuzzy, I mean that I can see bumps along the cell borders, and can see individual dots on the letters of text. I do not believe this has anything to do with my printer resolution, since it only happens after a watermark/background is applied in Acrobat. Has anyone else had this problem? Any workarounds? Fixes? Liana Ottaviano Bend, Oregon |
