I have the same problem! The only things I can add are that the link tool only crashes when I select the drop down menu "Invisible Rectangle". I am using XP Pro SP3 & Acro. Pro 8.1.1.

I did not see a reply to Stewart's query. Is there no fix for this? It did not do this in version 7.
