Adobe Reader 8.0 INTERFERES with Acrobat 5.0
I have Acrobat 5.0 which was working very nicely.
Then I installed Adobe Reader 8.0. Now when I try to start Acrobat 5.0, Adobe Reader 8.0 STARTS!!!!! They are installed in separate folders. Can someone please give me specific instructions on how I can get my Acrobat 5.0 back? I have already uninstalled Reader 8.0. That did work, but I had to install in again because some new .pdf's required it. TIA -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

Hi, uninstall Acrobat 5.0 and then install it again. I had the same problem and could solve it in this way. Good luck Gert On Mon, 14 Jan 2008 01:13:14 -0500, WinXPguy <WinXPguy@ether.net> wrote: >I have Acrobat 5.0 which was working very nicely. > >Then I installed Adobe Reader 8.0. > >Now when I try to start Acrobat 5.0, >Adobe Reader 8.0 STARTS!!!!! > >They are installed in separate folders. > >Can someone please give me specific instructions on how I can get my >Acrobat 5.0 back? > >I have already uninstalled Reader 8.0. All you have to do is to go into any folder and under "tools" you'll find "folder options". When you installed Reader 8. It associated pdf files with itself. Just to to File Associations and change the association back to Acrobat 5. (if you're running Vista, you can also do this in "file associations" from the start button.) > >Then I installed Adobe Reader 8.0. > > >Now when I try to start Acrobat 5.0, > >Adobe Reader 8.0 STARTS!!!!! > > >They are installed in separate folders. > > >Can someone please give me specific instructions on how I can get my > >Acrobat 5.0 back? > > >I have already uninstalled Reader 8.0.
