When I access an Illy CS3 file from an InDesign CS3 file, the file normally opens in Illy and I can edit it. When I attempt to save the file, I get a message that it is in use somewhere else and to save it as another name. If I select file>new, Illy instantly closes.

I have used IND on a daily basis since IND2 have never experienced this bizarre behavior before. I have deleted preferences on more than one occasion which is the Adobe instant fix for a lot of problems, but it does not work on this one. Also contacted Adobe Expert Support and they did not find a solution.

The problem is unique to Illy. When I access PSCS3 files from IND, the procedure works perfectlly.

In this case the alleged "seamless" integration benefit is kaput and a PITA. I have version cue enabled to take advantage of the Adobe file interface rather than the OS one. Windows XP Sp2 / 4 gig ram / A ton of available HDD space.

If anyone has an idea on how to fix this malfunction, I would be grateful.
