When I add a picture to my document nothing shows up but a huge textbox. it's so huge that I can't even see the corners of it... There is no picture in it. I've tried 'fit to frame', scaling etc... but still no picture... I havn't had a problem with any other pictures. And the picture itself is rather small , so the huge textbox doesn't make sense. I've tried some different imagefiles; bmp, tff... but no difference... any ideas?

First, when you place a picture, you should see an image frame, not a text frame, so are you sure this is really an image? Do you see an "in port" below the upper left corner of the frame to indicate that ID thinks you are importing text?

Second, what happens if you try to open this picture by double-clicking on the file name in explorer? Does it open? What application?

Once we establish what it really is we can figure out what's going wrong.
