Re: OT Google enhanced image search
I've enabled that for a few sites, just to see what happened.
What happened was, I get a boatload of worthless traffic that consists of people looking to steal my images. Mostly they hotlink to the image on my server, so it's easy to find them. Just for heck of it, I've edited the stolen images to display the URL of the site it was stolen from. So far, none of the image thieves seems to have noticed. At some point I might disable hotlinking, but sometimes I want to hotlink to my own images, so I'm resisting that solution for now. -- Sonjay On 3/7/08 8:56 AM, "B" wrote: > Hi does any body use this feature on Google Webmaster Tools > > enhanced image search - looks to be away for Google to index images on your > site. > > worth doing or not? > > cheers |

I get hourly hits on the 2 pages on my site, its very strange, and I haven't told google to search my site for images. Steve |

Re: OT Google enhanced image search
interesting - I need to look at my stats in more detail - I've seen google
image search (I think), in my analytics reports, but have not taken much notice. -- B www.visit-the-coqui.com/ If you are thinking of a vacation to Puerto Rico http://gadgetgrapevine.blogspot.com Latest gadget and other news here "Dooza" <doozadooza@gmail.com> wrote in message news:fqrmpr$mvb$1@forums.macromedia.com... >B wrote: >> Hi does any body use this feature on Google Webmaster Tools >> >> enhanced image search - looks to be away for Google to index images on >> your site. >> >> worth doing or not? >> >> cheers >> > > My personal site has in the last couple of weeks suddenly got bombarded by > google images, but each one seems to be a different countries version, but > they only look for 2 images, one is off a tattoo I had done, and the other > was a photo of optimus prime, I was given him for Christmas. Re: OT Google enhanced image search
If google uses a diffterent spider for its image searches (it does for
adsense), you may be able to just disallow that spider using the robots.txt -- B www.visit-the-coqui.com/ If you are thinking of a vacation to Puerto Rico http://gadgetgrapevine.blogspot.com Latest gadget and other news here "Dooza" <doozadooza@gmail.com> wrote in message news:fqrn1d$mvb$2@forums.macromedia.com... >B wrote: >> interesting - I need to look at my stats in more detail - I've seen >> google image search (I think), in my analytics reports, but have not >> taken much notice. >> > > My site normally gets random hits from google searches, but now its > getting loads of referrals from google, I just don't understand it.
