Beginner: changing link colors, getting rid of theunderline, getting rid of boxes around linked pictures
So, I'm fairly new to all this.
I'm trying to put up a very minimalist art site and there's a lot of white space. My "client" wants the link text to not have that default underline on it. We also wanna change the colors of the link for a three different situations (not yet clicked, hover over, already clicked) Also, we have some images that are basically white background that blend with the general background. We wanted to make them linkable, but when I do that the image gets a massive ugly link box around it. We want it to stay white.. How do I do that? |

Re: Beginner: changing link colors, getting rid of the underline, getting rid of boxes around linked pictures
You need to use CSS.
remove underlines: a { text-decoration: none; } not-yet-clicked links: a:link { ....formatting... } already-clicked (visited) links: a:visited{ ....formatting... } hover links: a:hover { ....formatting... } remove borders around image links: a img { border: none; } You may benefit from the free CSS tutorials at www.w3schools.com. -- Alec Adobe Community Expert |

Re: Beginner: changing link colors, getting rid of the underline, getting rid of boxes around linked pictures
A great resource for you would be this site:
http://www.w3schools.com/ What you are trying to accomplish is fairly simple using sandard CSS: http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp More specifically for your question: http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_pseudo_classes.asp http://www.w3schools.com/css/tryit.a...me=trycss_link For the image.. when you add an anhcor the "border appears" using CSS you can set the broder to none (for all images) http://www.w3schools.com/css/tryit.a...=trycss_border In that example, swap the p to img and make it Border: none You can also do that with regular HTML.. in your Img tag just add border="0" Good luck -Dave "prancibald" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:frbtp3$jao$1@forums.macromedia.com... > So, I'm fairly new to all this. > > I'm trying to put up a very minimalist art site and there's a lot of white > space.
