Hi, Im on the cs3 in a winxpPro environment.
Start cs3
Create simple page
Link in a style sheet for simplicity I just grabbed one of dreamweavers

<link href="file:///C|/websites/membership
design/system/application/CSS/Level1_Arial.css" rel="stylesheet"
type="text/css" media="screen" />

When I try an apply a style to an object on the page e.g text The popup menu
does not show any styles to apply. Further , the menu option is there to
'Attache style sheet'. It's as though it dos'nt know that there is one already
linked in

any help appreciated..

Looks like you have not defined a site, or have defined it improperly. Use
DW Help (F1) and search for "site definition"

After you create a page make sure you save it. If you don't DW will provide you
with your computers path to the css file.

1 Create a site
2. Create a new page
3. Save your page
4. Add elements (Pictures, text, CSS)
Save again
