Re: Design view vs Browser view
I have the same problem with any page I'm working on. So I purchased Adobe
Dreamweaver Classroom in a Book to start back with the basics. But even with the programs predefined page layouts, my design window will only let me see the information in rows instead of the chosen columns until I go to the browser. |

Re: Design view vs Browser view
Some style attributes are not displayed accurately while in design view. If
your page layout is using a style sheet to display the contents in a certain way, then it requires a browser to render it properly. An example of this is if you increase the space after your [LI] tags to increase the leading, you may not see the space in design view but when you preview it in a browser you may actually have more space between your [LI] tags than you intended. Given that you are designing for browsers, you should rely more on what you see in the browser window than what you see in your editing tool. Hope this helps. |

Re: Design view vs Browser view
I don't think this is accurate. While it is true that DW is NOT a browser,
and that it cannot hope to duplicate all renderings in all browsers, it is also true that DW's design view is not a bad representation of what you should see in any browser, PROVIDED YOUR CODE VALIDATES. Given the first sentence in the original poster's message - New to DW I'm guessing that the problems would start there. To say more, we'd need to see a page. -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "rprevost" <rprevos@frk.com> wrote in message news:fsoh24$bn5$1@forums.macromedia.com... > Some style attributes are not displayed accurately while in design view. > If > your page layout is using a style sheet to display the contents in a > certain > way, then it requires a browser to render it properly. > > An example of this is if you increase the space after your [LI] tags to > increase the leading, you may not see the space in design view but when > you > preview it in a browser you may actually have more space between your [LI] > tags > than you intended. > > Given that you are designing for browsers, you should rely more on what > you > see in the browser window than what you see in your editing tool. > > Hope this helps. > |
