Lost Spry Menu Styling?

I was just finishing up tweaking my web site when I lost the styling on my
Horizontal Spry Menu, now it looks like a basic library item with no styling
and I have no idea how to recover the styling? I've tried attaching css sheets
but I don't know, nothing works. I even tried setting up a new spry menu but it
has no styling either, just the basic flow text.

I'm really stuck and can't believe this has happened after all this work,
can somebody please help me?

Thank you for your time and help.
Peter

Re: Lost Spry Menu Styling?

Hello,

I'm afraid that doesn't help much, though other than the <div align="center"
in the <li> the markup for the menu it looks fine.
In a spry menu, never highlight text and use the little "center text" icon
in the properties window.
It inserts a div to do so, which can destroy the menu in IE if the div wraps
around the submenu <ul> .
Center text by using text-align:center; in the link rule in the Spry CSS.

I asked if you had an URL because to lose formatting, it's usually because
of a broken link to the CSS stylesheet or a big problem with the stylesheet.
Unfortunately, that info isn't in the code you pasted. It could be some
over-riding CSS rule in the page I suppose, but I'd need to see the whole
page to know.
If you have any hosting where you can put it up, in a folder or with a
different name if you have to, it would be a big help.

Take care,
Tim

Re: Lost Spry Menu Styling?

The code above is from selecting the spry menu bar. After taking another look,
I see styling and script before the code. I have copied the code from the top
of the page and pasted the code below hoping that I now have enough here to
find the problem.

Thanks again for your time and help,

Re: Lost Spry Menu Styling?

I'm still stuck, I'm not a coder which is why I am using DreamWeaver. I see
this is a busy board and I appreciat the time and knowledge of the menbers and
have looked through the posts and don't se a solution to my problem..
I've been working on this site many hours and now this happened, is there
something more I need to supply to get this straightened out? Or will I have to
start all over?

Best regards,
Pete

Re: Lost Spry Menu Styling?

Hello,

Nothing is standing out in the code you've pasted.
Inside of the directory (folder) that contains your page, do you also have
another folder named SpryAssets?
In this Spry Assets folder, are the spry stylesheets there?
If the answer is no to either of these, that's the trouble.

Do you have hosting yet where you could put up the page?
If you don't want anyone to see it "publicly", you can just change the name
of the page and upload it with the stylesheets and js.
Being able to see the entire page and how it is or isn't interacting with
the dependant files (CSS, JS) would give the solution to the problem very
quickly.

Take care,
Tim

Re: Lost Spry Menu Styling?

Hello Tim,

I had two spry.css files. One was in the spry folder and one outside. Looking
at the sheet in the spry folder it turned out to be an incomplete file. I moved
the other css file in to the spry folder, over writing the existing file and
the menu styling is back.... thank you so much.

You'll be receiving an E-mail from Touch Of Wood, our laser engraving company
as a token of my appreciation for your help.

Best regards,
Peter
