DW MX 2004 Crashes Opening Remote File

Hello all,

New to the forums and DW. I just installed our co.'s copy of Dreamweaver MX
2004 on my machine, Windows XP, sp2 and it is activated. I setup a site to
access a mapped network drive that resides on my machine which accesses a
shared directory on a server on our LAN, a development server (IIS 5).
Whenever I attempt to open a file on that server, DW crashes immediately. My
account has administrator rights on that server so it doesn't appear to be a
security problem. The files are HTML and CSS files, some PHP, but any file
that I open crashes it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

THis is a complicated arrangement with mapped drives. I would recommend you
contact Adobe Tech Support to get the issue solved, but unfortunately,
DMX2004 is not being supported any longer.

Would it be possible to upgrade to the latest version?

Hi Murray,

Thanks for the quick response. I did look into Adobe support for this and
they informed me about no longer supporting it. I'm looking into the upgrade
now with our co., it shouldn't be a problem. Does this fix the issue or does
CS3 have the same issues?

Jeff

I'm not sure what "the issue" is, really, but for certain you will be able
to get support with it having upgraded.
