index file not showing up and uploading to site
I cannot get my website to publish because the index file was missing. I
searched around on my computer and found index.html, but it does not open. When I try to open it, a safari window comes up that says page can't be found. How do I add a working index file to my site? |

Re: index file not showing up and uploading to site
Huh? The index.html (or whatever the default filename is) file is a file that
you create. You then upload (Put) it to the root directory on the server and that is your site's homepage. Did you create a homepage? What did you name it? |

Re: index file not showing up and uploading to site
yes, i did create a homepage. it is home.html.
How do you go about creating an index file then? It seems when I used dreamweaver a few year ago, it created it when you published your site. My host says that my site will not be functional until there is an index page uploaded. index not being the same as homepage |
