In DW CS3, tried creating hotspots in a simple gif image as advised by the
help. But got this message:

"Making this change would require changing code that is locked by a template
or translator. The change will be discarded."

I'm not using a template and don't know what a translator is. What might be
the problem?

Thanks for the advice. There were indeed errors, mostly in included php code
written for me a couple of years ago. I managed to get rid of all but two of
these, which were a bit more intractable, but insignificant. But this did not
get rid of the message in DW.

So I created a new file with the image and used this to create the map, which
I then pasted back to my main page. That worked OK.
