Re: Different between DW & IE
And, isn't it supposed to be the same size in DW and IE?
What could be the problem? Look at your site with IE6 & 7, Firefox, Opera, Safari on Windows or a Mac. Trying to make it identical is like chasing your tail......... And, isn't it supposed to be the same size in DW and IE? What could be the problem? [/q] It's probably never going to be the same unless you set a fixed text size in pixels or something. By setting it to "85%", you have to ask "85% of what?". For text that's resizable by the user using the text-size adjustments in the browser, I'm not sure that there's any standard for the actual final size that the browser uses for rendering the text. I don't think that DW has a way of specifying this, so the default size that DW uses is probably not going to match the default for the browser. |

Even then it doesn't have to appear the same across different browsers. There are a lot of things the author can't control. >By setting it to "85%", you have to ask "85% of what?". 85% of the user's preferred font size. But 85% is definitely too small for normal text, it should be around 95-100%, not less. If it appears too big then, it usually just means that you've used an inappropriate font like Verdana for example. Micha |
