Applying Design-Time stylesheets to multiple files at once... possible?
Any way to Design-Time a stylesheet across multiple files at once?
In other words, I want a folder containing 100 html files (that happen to all be raw data includes) to show me the stylesheet of the website proper when I'm editing them individually in dreamweaver. I'd rather not have to hit Text / CSS Styles / Design Time on a file-by-file basis. Thanks! |

New feature suggestion for DW (was: Applying Design-Time stylesheets across multiple files)
Then I'll assume the only way to attach a design-time stylesheet, is
individually, on open files. This kinda sucks. :-( We can search-replace over several highlighted files in the inspector with a single command, but we can't apply design-time CSS on several files at once. Here's to hoping we can, in a future revision. Here's a DW Extension that allows you to do that: http://www.communitymx.com/abstract.cfm?CID=61265 The extension is not free, but for only US $5 it shouldn't take long to pay for itself in time saved. HTH, Randy |

Re: Applying Design-Time stylesheets to multiple files at once... possible?
This extension was created in 2004, right after Dreamweaver MX introduced
design-time stylesheets. Are you suggesting that despite the fact that the need to apply design-time stylesheets to multiple files manifested itself right out of the gate, Macromedia/Adobe have yet to address this issue half a decade later? I find that a bit sad. I'm not sure how comfortable I am installing a DWMX extension on CS3. The data controlling the DTSS's was placed in Design Notes "right out of the gate" so that DW could be extended for this type of functionality. > I'm not sure how comfortable I am installing a DWMX extension on CS3. As you noted, this functionality has not changed, so this extension still works in all versions through CS4. HTH, Randy |
