htaccess HELP!!!!
I have created a .htaccess and .htpasswd file for this webpage. Some of the
UN's work to login to the page and others do not. However, those same UN's that do not work on this certain file work on others. In other words, i can use the same UN an PW to login to other pages but some of them just do not work on this certain page. I used the .htaccess generator website and have tried to regenerate the UN an PWs but it still does not work. I know that my htaccess file is correct or i wouldnt be able to login to the page at all. How do i fix this problem |

Re: htaccess HELP!!!!
can you use php on this hosting?
suggest using http://www.krizleebear.de/phpaccess/dynamisch/ phpAccess to do this. Or- if the site has a CPanel or other control panel, use that to create the htaccess and password files. -- Alan Adobe Community Expert, dreamweaver http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/ |

How do i > fix > this problem Login to the shell on your web server and generate the passwords using htpasswd directly. That way you don't have cut/paste issues. If you don't have shell access, setup a test environment as close to your production environment where you do have shell access. Generate the correct .htpasswd file and download that to production. If it still doesn't work, your production web server has a problem you need to iron out with your web hosting company. -- DeeDee, don't press that button! DeeDee! NO! Dee...
