Urgent help required!

Hi. Im right in the middle of updating my website and i must have clicked on
something(?) as now in the design mode only the header and footer of the page
are visable. Everything is still there in the code, plus the website is fine
also. I just cant see anything in the design page to make alterations that way
rather than code.

Can anyone help? Ive been trying to sort this for 2 hours now, been through
every heading and menu i can think of. All my other pages when i open them they
are fine, its just this one! Even if i log out then back inagain it still
displays it in the same way

help help help PLEASE!

Show us the code. Sounds like you may have multiple instances of <html>,
<head>, or <body> tags. Are you using SSI?

Re: Urgent help required!

hi Murray.
Sorry, im a numpty at this. I dont know what im using. Its dw8. the code is
all there which i was editing. When i was in split mode, i.e. displaying code
and design it was all okay with the design displayed correctly.
Then i must have done something wrong as the code is all still there but the
design page only displays header and footer.
There is a kind of very thin 'table' in between the two that changes to red
when i hover over it, plus the cursos is small and blinks at the right of it.
It wont let me drag or do anything with it thogh, although its as if that is
where all the missing page design is???

Do you want me to copy the whole of the page code onto here for you? (although
its the design VIEW that i cant see, i think the code is fine.

Have you backed up the site - I know we should do it very often - I
try to do a back up every day if I'm changing a lot !!.

It must be in the code - so paste it into here - complete with css

The answer is always in the code.

Re: Urgent help required!

Hi
it wont allow me to paste the code on here, keeps coming up with it being too
many bytes.

I cant see that the code can be wrong though as the webpage displays
perfectly. It just wont display the design on DW! very strange.

Ive taken a screen shot of it to help but cant see how to attach an image on
here. any chance i could email it to you?

Please, no. And screenshots don't really help. Have you uploaded the page?
Can you post a link to that uploaded page?

A screen shot will not help at all.
and the browser may well not display problem.

Dw CS3 is rather more strict in the code it will display ( a good
thing as it ensures code is as good as possible.

You may just have to slowly take the page apart with Dw, stripping out
sections of it and testing as you go - keeping regular backups - or
just change the page name at each stage.

Can't you post it on your webserver ?

Re: Urgent help required!

1. Have you "defined a site" for this project?

2. In code view of dw, are any tags highlighted in yellow?

3. If you go to dw menu->File->Check Page->Check Links are there any broken
links? Are any of the broken links links to .css files?

Re: Urgent help required!

here is the page link:
http://www.bikecameras.com/bullet-camera.php
There is lots of different colours used like orange, purple, red but no yellow.
There was one broken link which i have now deleted.it hasnt made any
difference to the design view though. its stillmissing the 'middle section'.
