Stuck on a pop up
I'm stuck and would be really grateful if any Dreamweaver user out there can
help me. I have to create a page with lots of little "info" icons on them which, when clicked, make a little window appear giving said info, and some sort of device to close the window again. Sometimes words in the text in this pop up panel (I know that's not the right name for it) has to link to a file to download). I've tried all sorts of ways using AP Divs and show/hide etc but it seems too hard for what it is and I'm sure there must be an easier way which I just don't know. I'm a new user (as you might gather) and have spent HOURS on this getting nowhere. Help............... |

Re: Stuck on a pop up
Use DW's OpenBrowserWindow behavior on your links to open a pop-up window of
specified size. Be aware that some browsers will suppress this. -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "JudyTeen" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:g7upej$ctg$1@forums.macromedia.com... > I'm stuck and would be really grateful if any Dreamweaver user out there > can > help me. Re: Stuck on a pop up
Thanks for that. I think my use of the term "pop up" has confused the issue,
because although I have tried that as an option, it isn't what the previous designer has used. They are based in India and have been unhelpful, to say the least. I'm having to reproduce their design which I guess is hard enough but for a newbie like me, a proper nightmare. But thanks very much anyway. |

Re: Stuck on a pop up
You say your page has many little icons to click. You could indeed use
OpenBrowserWindow as Murray suggested, but it will be a lot of work, and will spawn multiple windows if each one is not individually closed. Alternatively you could try this: http://boxover.swazz.org/ Or you could try my DW Extension called divaPOPgold: http://divahtml.com/products/divaPOP...up_windows.php -- E. Michael Brandt www.divahtml.com http://www.divahtml.com/products/scr...extensions.php Standards-compliant scripts and Dreamweaver Extensions www.valleywebdesigns.com/vwd_Vdw.asp JustSo PictureWindow JustSo PhotoAlbum, et alia -- |

Re: Stuck on a pop up
Perhaps if you post a link to your page, you'll have a better chance of
getting more specific help. What you described certainly sounds like a pop-up window, though. -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "JudyTeen" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:g7uv8e$ivn$1@forums.macromedia.com... > Thanks for that.
