Screenreader hotspot problem
I have an image map with hotspots that opens a new window with specfic
dimensions. If I use the openWindow behavior, the screen reader won't read it as a link. If I just create a link to the hotspot, the screen reader reads it, but the window opens as a full window and no specific size. Help! P.S. My focus is to get the screen reader to see the hotspot as a link. |

To me, it sounds more like getting popups to "work" is more important to you than making the site Accessible. If your goal is to make a truly Accessible site (i.e. Section 508/ADA compliant), shouldn't that (Accessibility) be the driving force for the functionality of the site? In other words, *why* are you doing popups? What is the functional purpose for making the info popup as opposed to delivering the information in a way that will be easier to read/digest for everyone including those using Screen Readers? |
