Web Banners

Can anyone tell me what a MPU banner is? Someone has asked for one on a site I am working on. Is there a difference between an MPU and a normal everyday banner?

MPU banner is the banner which are the ones that when you hover over them on
the page, they get bigger and sits over the html content on the page. when
hovered over would tripple in size and cover this text area .

MPU = Mid Page Unit or Messaging Plus Unit

One definition:
"An advert that sits in the middle of online editorial. Because an MPU is
surrounded by editorial, it is therefore more likely to be read."

Examples of various advertising opportunities (MPUs, skyscrapers etc)

You gotta love that. Yes, if you put something nasty that nobody wants to
see right on top of something important that people want to see, people will
have to look at the nasty thing. True! :-)
