OT: Creating Custom WordPress Themes
Since this comes up frequently in the forum I thought I'd post this article
that I came across on Digg today: http://themetation.com/2008/07/14/ho...rom-scratch-pa rt-1/ Parts II (2) and III (3) have all the details on creating the custom CSS and modifying the various php parts. This won't answer every "can I make WordPress look like my site?" question I realize, but this should be a good start! |

Re: Creating Custom WordPress Themes
Whew! Nice to have that but it's much, much easier to find a WP theme that
has the basic page layout you want to use (e.g., header, one sidebar, content, footer) and modify that theme for what you want than to start from complete scratch the way this tutorial shows. Unless you want something that just doesn't fit into any known existing theme, this seems like the super long way to do it.
