Background Image
I placed a background image for my website (size: 67KB). However, every time I
click a button linking to a different page in the site the background image reloads and this adds a bad effect when changing pages. body { background-image: url(background4.jpg); background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position:top; } Is there a way to make it so it doesn't reload between pages or at least make it so the background image loads before the actual HTML? |

Re: Background Image
There is no way you can make the bg image load before the HTML. Have you got
a link to the page? > reloads and this adds a bad effect when changing pages. Not really, that's just how it goes, but if the bg image is already loaded then it should appear instantly. -- Kind Regards Paul Dell .................................. Re: Background Image
Your problem, really, is using a 67K image as a background image. Any way
you can make it smaller? Anyhow, once that image is fetched from the server, it will be stored in the local cache, so it's not really being "reloaded" from the server on each page. By the way, you do not need the 'background-position:top' style. -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "Twinbird24" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:fo25bu$49s$1@forums.macromedia.com... > I placed a background image for my website (size: 67KB). Re: Background Image
Thanks for all your help. I if make the image smaller than 67K then then it
looks undesirably worse. Also, I do need the positions attribute for the image otherwise it slides into the default position which is not what i want. 'Pablo' >Not really, that's just how it goes, but if the bg image is already loaded >then it should appear instantly. I'll take this as my answer. |

Re: Background Image
Sorry - I was too quick. When used ONLY with "top", you are in effect using
'50% top'. -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "Twinbird24" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:fo26fa$5be$1@forums.macromedia.com... > Thanks for all your help. Top is the default position. Something else is wrong. Please publish the page and post a link so we can see what's happening and review the code. Otherwise everything is a guess. -- Walt "Twinbird24" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:fo26fa$5be$1@forums.macromedia.com... > Thanks for all your help.
