The situation is quite simple, however I can't figure out how to un-center the
content inside my table cell. I'm not talking about horizontal center but
vertical center. I want to type from the top left of the table cell, not from
the center and have the text be vertically centered.

Click in the cell. Use the Vert field on the Property inspector to select
"Top". Or use the CSS style -

{ vertical-align:top; }
