Firefox 3b5 Portable

Can someone tell me how to clear all items from the drop-down of the
address bar? Thank you.

If you mean the autocomplete (awesome bar), you probably
can't. You can use Ctrl+H with a search or select whole
dates to remove history, but that will not affect the links that
are there because they are in the bookmarks (have a filled star).

Or are you trying to do away with the autocomplete all together.
Would not suggest doing that, though the one line entries
were a lot more to my liking.

You can delete the items based on history, you cannot delete the
items based on being bookmarked, because when you redo
the entry on the location bar it will regenerated from bookmarks,
shown with filled in stars..
I've not checked if it will be lower down, but I doubt that
number of times used is going to be removed from a bookmark.
With a row pairs for bookmarks it's kind of hard to check because
you can't see very many hits.

Try this: Click on the down arrow and highlight the address (URL) you
want to delete; Hold down the SHIFT key and press DELETE. As far as I
know, you can only delete them one at a time.

Why are you holding down the Shift key? It's not necessary.

Old habits, I guess. It worked on an earlier version and it worked on
3b5 - so I thought. However, as pointed out by David, Firefox recreates
them again anyway. So further discussion re my suggestion would appear
to by academic.

Are you saying 3b5 recreates them if you hold down the shift key when
deleting, or in general?
