Involuntary pseudo-maximization

Recently installed FF3 on Mac G4 running OS X 10.4.11, replacing some
previous version of FF.

My startup page (about:blank) now always appears maximized when I
start the browser. Previously, it usually recalled the size and
position of
the last open FF window, or sometimes something smaller (if confused?)
It is not, however, literally maximized; the upper-left-hand green
button
does not affect the display size when clicked. The non-maximized and
maximized states are the same.

For me, this is an undesirable behavior, new in this version. I
looked
through the prefs files and read pages about them, but I don't see
anything obvious that would turn it on or off.

Any suggestions?

Maybe the localstore.rdf file in your profile has been damaged. Try
moving it to the desktop and start up Firefox. It will be forced to
make a new one. Try resizing the window, closing Firefox, then opening
it again and see if the window size has been saved. If so, you can
delete localstore.rdf on your desktop.
You are aware of how to prevent web page code from resizing the browser
window, right?

That did the trick. Thanks very much for your suggestion.

I haven't had problems with jokers playing games with my window
sizes lately.
