Terrible profile-creation help

So, I've just been told in these newsgroups that the solution to my
problems is to create a new profile. if this process is so critical,
why is the help site so uninformative? It tells me how to launch the
manage profile wizard, and that steps me through creating a new profile
and deleting the old one, and then I'm left hanging. It offers no
guidance on what files should or should not be transferred to the new
profile. For instance, is there a way for me to transfer all my
extensions, or will that also transfer the problems I've been having.
Presumably, I can transfer my bookmarks, but there sure aren't any
instructions telling me it's OK to do so. Why the hell isn't that
process built into the wizard?

Thanks. That's the kind of thing I was looking for, though it still
leaves a lot to be desired. The question is why is it so hard to
find...that's important information.
