Where are my bookmarks?
I just created a new profile, and I copied my old bookmarks.html file to
the new profile, but when I open Firefox, I don't have a bookmarks view, just a "most visited" button. The bookmarks menu doesn't help at all, and neither does the view menu. Are there people whose job it is to make FF3 hard to use? They're doing a great job! |

Go to bookmarks-organize bookmarks-import and backup and do a backup. Then open your new profile, do the same thing, and use the json file to restore the bookmarks. |

Thanks for that info, but it only reinforces my complaint above: FF developers are totally losing touch with reality. Why isn't that process explained on the FF page that explains the new-profile creation process? Why isn't that backup process included as an option in the new-profile creation wizard? What the hell is a json file? Now that I've already deleted my old profile (I have a backup), how do I do a backup of my bookmarks? Ever since FF3 came out, Microsoft has been looking better and better every day...this from someone who's hasn't used IE as the primary browser in a decade. |

Remove anything that ends in sqlite from the directory, and then start FF3. -- Ron Hunter rphunter@charter.net |

FF developers aren't losing anything except maybe you as a user. A json file is a bookmark backup file that you can use to restore your old bookmarks from within firefox. |

You did not Import HTML from the bookmark organizer window, did you? You need to do that to get them imported if they are in HTML format. |

They're doing a great job! yes they are... the "new bookmarks mess" is almost a deal killer... it wasn't broken... why in gods name did they decide to fix it? -- .... Try reading up on the subject of the new bookmarks system and what it can do. |
