Rootkit if Cache Folder a No Show?

Do I have a rootkit in my pc if Firefox 1.5.0.1 doesn't show the cache
folder? I have "show hidden files" unticked. Initial installation of
FF had the cache folder but has since disappeared. No matter what I do
it will NOT appear. Thanx for your input.

Scroll back a few messages in this group - this topic was covered just
yesterday, starting in a post entitled "Why is the cache rooykitted?"
(news://news.mozilla.org:119/CN-dndrY...w@mozilla.org). The
thread was started by "Bill's E-mail" at 6:14am on 2/21/2006.

In short, there's no rootkit. They moved the cache out of the profile
folder.

Can't read the thread using the URL I provided... It appears you can see
the whole thing through Google though:

Details, details. :-) Thanks for the catch - that thought never crossed
my mind when I posted that. Ahh well, at least I gave the OP a link to
Google where he/she can read the thread.
