Deleted SMTP server still appears!
I have had a problem configuring TB 2.0.0.12 to match what I had in
Outlook Express. There were several different SMTP servers configured, for both good and (possibly bad) historical reasons. I'd prefer to keep the exact same association between POP / Webmail incoming and SMTP outgoing servers. I messed-up a bit setting up TB for the first time. As a result, when I got TB working it would receive some mail but could not send any: incorrect associations between POP, Webmail servers and SMTP servers. I also got various pop-ups requesting passwords but none of the (apparently correct) ones worked. I then DELETED and re-entered several of the servers in the SMTP list. When I tried again to send mail, I then got an Enter Password popup for a server that was definitely NOT in the list, and definitely NOT the one that should have been associated with the account I was sending from. I also notice that the release / version details of TB on the Help dropdown do not match the details reported via the directory entry for TB in Program Files. About... says 2.0.0.12 (20080213), Properties of the file says 1.8.20080.21305. |

In SMTP list set any existing SMTP server as Default . Now at Account Settings , set SMTP server for each account . Restart Thunderbird. Does the same problem still persist ? > I also notice that the release / version details of TB on the Help > dropdown do not match the details reported via the directory entry for > TB in Program Files.
