TB won't send out going mail
Hi all, I am a newbie here.
All of a sudden I can not send out e-mail on one of my accounts. I can receive. I do not know if this is a TB problem or a verizon problem. I am getting - Mail Server Responded 5.7.1 Authentication is required to send mail as < Resvsi3@verizon.net > Please verify email address is correct in mail preferences and try again. I would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks Ellyn |

My life is a mess! I even had to take a second mortgage on my house and, you know, because of the world wide crisis on the housing market I had to sell! Now, it even got so far the local bridge is my home. Yes, I'm sleeping under the bridge now, not seeing my children anymore! I'm totally lost! The 'Thing' is getting bigger and bigger and bigger,.............!!!! Please, Ellyn, don't let it come this far!! Quit now you still can!!! H e l p ! ! ! Angelique |

Go out at night and steal a tarpaulin - keeps you dry and may even help with Thunderbird. Only thing I can think of is to open the account settings and make *SURE* that the Outgoing server (SMTP) is set correctly! There is a dropdown list to the right, 2/3 down the page. reg |

Re: TB won't send out going mail
Hi all,
Thanks for the info, I have checked and rechecked the userid and outgoing stmp everything is correct. I was using AVG 7.5 recently i kept getting popups to upgrade from the free version. I have removed AVG and have installed Avast! So far no change in sending outgoing mail. I have been using TB for at least 2 years w/o any problems. I have 7 accounts listed. 3 of them I cannot send from. I just send my emails through one of my other accounts. My business account is the one that really concerns me b/c now I cannot send from it. If you have any other thoughts, I am open to suggestions. Thanks Ellyn George Abbot wrote: > Melchert Fruitema wrote: >> On 30-06-2008 02:19 CET, Ellyn Ladd composed this enchanting statement: >>> Hi all, I am a newbie here. >>> >>> All of a sudden I can not send out e-mail on one of my accounts. Does your ISP (Verizon?) require such, at present? Does the outgoing server (SMTP) that you've _assigned_ for the failing account(s) belong to your Internet Service Provider? Refer to Tools menu, select Account Settings, select the Account Name/Identity and see the Outgoing Server (SMTP) selected. -- Kind regards, Melchert (MacOS 10.3.9 / Firefox 2.0, Thunderbird 2.0) |
