Selective "Get Mail"?
Following up on the "quick Get Mail" thread, I have 9 email accounts.
Some I check from my home machine, some I check here in the office. They are all active on this office machine because it's a laptop that I take with me on the road and I might want to read my home messages while away from hearth and home. I don't use Get All Messages or F5 when I'm in the office because I only want to get messages for 5 of the 9 accounts. So I manually click each inbox and do a Get Mail for that account. </longwinded explanation> Is there a plug in or some setting that can provide a "Get Selected Mail" function? -- Mike "Rocket J Squirrel" Elliott |

Try this: Go into account settings: Server settings: and click on advanced. There is an option to "include this server when getting mail" or something like that. Check those you want, and leave the others off. Catherine |

It looks like the server is included automatically when downloaded pop mail goes into the Inbox for that server. If the Global Inbox is selected, or if we want the mails to go into another server's Inbox, then we can turn on or off inclusion, but not if we use the server's own darn Inbox. Thanks, though! -- Mike "Rocket J Squirrel" Elliott |

I have just checked to see if it works with my email addresses. On my pc I have (let me quickly count them..) 14 different email addresses, some using the same server (mail.africanbush.co.za is one, which is my website) and others using other servers, but all proper external email addresses. I went into local folders, settings, etc. for ONE of the addresses and deselected everything on the server settings, and then in the advanced settings I deselected ' include this server...'. All my emails go into the same Global inbox, but in the past it wasn't so and it worked the same. I then sent myself and copied myself to two different emails on the same server - I then clicked on Get Mail and I have only received one of them. So... unless there is something totally different about the source of your emails I don't see why it shouldn't work for you too. Hope it comes right. Catherine |

The only way I can select/deselect "...include this server..." is if either I tell TB to put that account's messages into the Global folders, or tell it to put them into some other account's folders. Are you able to access the "INclude this server" tickbox when you have an account's Server Settings > Advanced set to use "Inbox for this server's account"? I don't put everything into a Global inbox, but if I did, then I could toggle that setting, I reckon. -- Mike "Rocket J Squirrel" Elliott |
