No email: Thunderbird times out
Several days ago, Thunderbird started acting wonky. I can't get my
email, as it times out. I can send email, and can access Usenet groups. I just can't get email to the Inbox, and they're piling up on Cox Cable, who does not provide tech support for Mozilla and refuses to help. I'm not sure which end is the problem. Yesterday, I was able to access and dl email for a window of time. Then it went back to timing out on me, which is where we're at this morning. I do suspect that the problem lies with Cox, but the problem didn't arise until a Firefox upgrade, which may only be coincidental. Halp? xenubarb |

Tb wil now wait longer before it reports a time out and allow for the sluggish ISP behavior. -- Ron K. Who is General Failure, and why is he searching my HDD? No need to use Config Edit. |

No need to use Config Edit. > Please excuse me butting in here - I didn't want to start up a new thread. I have a similar problem in that Thunderbird won't retrieve any e-mails from my POP accounts (cable & wireless). It will send ok and will cope with my gmail account. Outlook Express (*spit*) still accesses my POP mail. I have un & reinstalled Thunderbird and have imported my account settings from Outlook but to no avail. The increased time to time out has no effect and I have disabled my antivirus (avast), uninstalled reinstalled etc. I just can't bottom this one out. Can anyone help please? |
