I am running the latest version of Thunderbird on an XP Professional SP3
Dell laptop. I accidently pressed some combo of keys that caused the flame
icon for junk to vanish from my display. The messages that the icon was
marking did not disappear. I can't get the icon to reappear even if I try to
mark junk messages. Has this ever happened to anyone else? How do I get it
back?

Flame icon? Are you using a theme perhaps? What does the 'flame icon'
indicate?

The junk status column? If that's what disappeared, you can click on
the button that's on the far right of all the columns, then check "Junk
Status" to bring it back.

Right click the Mail Toolbar and click on "Customize". Does the icon
show in the big drop down box? If so, drag it to where you want it to
appear on the toolbar.
