sh: call: command not found

I tried to compile the latest vesion of qtiplot, but i get a lot of errors
when i run qmake:
qmake
sh: call: command not found
sh: call: command not found
lupdate error: Cannot open C++ source file '../3rdparty/EmfEngine/
EmfEngine.h': No such file or directory
src/Ap.......

I would like to solve the problem with 'call' first.

is it a command that is frequently packed with linux distributions?

I'm using slackware 12.0, it seems it is not provided with 'call'.
