Video Capture

Anyone know of a "Good" video capture app? I do not want something that
will just take a snapshot of the desktop, but something that will record
video.

I tried "xvidcap" and could not figure out how to save the results. So,
something that will record and save the results to the HD for later
viewing.

Thanks

Deb

What's the video input? I capture video from my Hauppauge video card with
"cat /dev/video0 > file".

I found that recordmydesktop generally works well. It will record Ogg
Theora (with audio and video). Ubuntu and other distributions have
packages for recordmydesktop. There is also a Gtk+ frontend that is
nice.
