Just a wild guess as I'm still using an older KDE, but try opening up the KDE Control Center and check the entries under the "Components" section. In my KDE 3.2, there are subsections for filemanager, file associations, etc. Hope this helps... -- Aragorn (registered GNU/Linux user #223157) |

In file associations, there are probably 400 hundred settings and I didn't see anything obvious. |

Can you remember your last actions before /fsview/ came to be your default filemanager? Perhaps you marked some menu option in it? I fall else fails, you'll have to start digging into the various /*rc/ files in your home directory, starting with /.kderc.../ :-/ -- Aragorn (registered GNU/Linux user #223157) |

Perhaps you marked some menu option in it? I had previously had the ~amd64 kde and it entered dependency hell where there were going to be 30 packages I had to also add ~amd64 one at a time to bring it up to date. Instead, I removed all the ~amd64s, and reverted to the stable version. I compiled the kde-meta, and build about 30 packages. Something strange I noticed: it is just the 'system' icon on the desktop that is hosed and bringing up fsview. I can still open a "system:/media" icon and get konqueror to open it. |

The obvious thought coming to my mind at this stage is "right-click the icon, select /Application/ and change it to read 'kfmclient openprofile filemanagement'"... ;-) -- Aragorn (registered GNU/Linux user #223157) |
