OpenOffice Calc

I tend to use Excel whenever possible because of idiosyncrasies experienced
with Calc. These are gradually being overcome but typically if I select a
worksheet in a multi-sheet workbook and attempt to print it, it is always
the first worksheet that is printed. I wonder whether this can be overcome?

I hardly ever use Calc myself, but it seems that a simple workaround
would be to copy that worksheet to a new workbook so that it is the only
worksheet in that workbook, and then print that.

Never seen this problem, works fine with version 2.4

Unselect that portion of the first worksheet that is selected as a print
range.

There was nothing selected in the whole file prior to this attempt but just
to make sure .... No difference. The version is 2.2.1. Workarounds are
just a cop out. Thankfully I can still use Excel but it irritates me that I
have to.

Alan

Does 2.4 have the same problem?

Well then, excuse me for trying to help.

Using Excel is an even bigger cop-out.

Had the same experience many versions ago, and the cure may be simple.
Have you enabled the "print only selected worksheet" (or similar - I am
using a non-English version)? It is located under Tools -> Options ->
OpenOffice.org Calc -> Print (directly translated).

I think "selected as a print range" could be worded better. "Define" is
the word used in the menu. Cells can be in a defined print range, when
no cells are selected.

If you go to Format|Print Ranges, in the menu off that, is "Remove"
active or greyed out? If it's not greyed out, you have a print range
defined, and that will be what gets printed even if you're looking at
somewhere else.
