Security patches hosed my desktop
After applying all the security patches I am experiencing several
problems. My desktop got hosed so I suspect I will have to delete it and recreate it, the menu is gone. My 'm' key got messed up but its back to normal after a reboot. Can't believe I needed a reboot. I feel as if some "security" patch probably was coupled with regular patches because of the changes I am experiencing. Even Pan is different and has complained to me. Im using 2008 spring. Anyone else have issues with security patches on this OS? CL |

No problems here. $ uname -a Linux hodgins.homeip.net 2.6.24.5-2mnbcustom #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Jun 25 15:48:51 EDT 2008 i686 Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.40GHz GNU/Linux Regards, Dave Hodgins -- Change nomail.afraid.org to ody.ca to reply by email. Some patch definitely did it. As for the rest of the stuff, one of my drives appearantly choked on June 7. I guess its no good to send yourself emails on failures if you arent going to check them. Problem is mandrive security thing sends too many emails... Anyway, for some reason when I rebooted with the 1 drive down, the OS booted into OS 2007 which was my desktop problem. |

I don't use vnc, so can't help there. > As for the rest of the stuff, one of my drives appearantly choked on June > 7.
