Skype in Mandriva
On Mandriva 2008.1 Spring Powerpack, both in i586 (32 bit) and in
X86_64 (64 bit) On opening Skype, I get message that sound is not working on two different HDDs yet it is OK on a third one. On a different computer experienced the same problem. Have updated the updates, to no avail. Any suggestions? TIA Regards Edward Registered Linux User No. 224802 |

Left click on the "main menu icon" (lower left corner). Select "Options", then "Sound Devices". Modify the settings, as needed, for your hardware. Skype is not yet working with pulseaudio, is that the difference between the installations? Try running skype with "pasuspend skype", which turns off pulseaudio for skype to run. |

Wrong I think. Get the last Skype packages for Mandriva on there website (www.skype.com). Go to sound configuration and select pulseaudio (last sound driver in the list). That's all. Works for i586 as x86_64. No need for pasuspend anymore. |
