problem mounting video dvd, mandriva 2008.1

Hi,
system:
mandriva 2008.1 i586
‎Optiarc DVD RW AD-7200S
gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 (n-force 4 chip set)
amd athlon 3000+

problem:
all media mounts in dvd drive except commercial video dvd

when issuing the mount command the computer takes about 1 minute and then
responds:
[chris@develop ~]$ sudo mount -t iso9660 /dev/sr0 /media/cdrom/
mount: No medium found

This drive worked fine under 2007.1 (I don't have that installed in another
partition though)

What should I do to resolve this?

Thanks...

Are you sure hal/udev hasn't assigned a different device name?
What's the output of "cat /etc/udev/rules.d/61-block_config.rules" and
"ls -l /dev/dvd"?

May also be a copy protection scheme. Have you tried reading the dvd
with dvdrip, from plf?

Thanks Dave
Problem solved! mounts okay as either sr0 or cdrom now. The ony change I
made was to add plf, and add mandvd. whatever was wrong, I will never know,
but I wish I did!
