msttcorefonts on Fedora 8
Hi.
We are running Fedora 8 on Intel 686 boxes. Has anybody successfully used the instructions at <http://corefonts.sourceforge.net> to build the msttcorefonts RPM? In our case, I can tell you the following: The directory /usr/share/fonts/msttcorefonts is populated with fonts: $ ls /usr/share/fonts/msttcorefonts andalemo.ttf comic.ttf ... arial.ttf comicbd.ttf ... arialbd.ttf cour.ttf ... arialbi.ttf courbd.ttf ... ariali.ttf courbi.ttf ... ariblk.ttf couri.ttf ... chkfontpath seems to know about this directory: $ /usr/sbin/chkfontpath -l Current directories in font path: 1: catalogue:/etc/X11/fontpath.d 2: /usr/share/fonts/msttcorefonts I have both restarted and reloaded xfs, which does seem to be running: $ /sbin/service xfs status xfs (pid 12505) is running... However, xlsfonts isn't finding the fonts: $ xlsfonts|grep microsoft $ xlsfonts|grep monotype IOW, no fonts match these patterns. What have I neglected to do here? Thanks. -- Art Werschulz (agw STRUDEL comcast.net) 207 Stoughton Ave Cranford NJ 07016 (908) 272-1146 |

Re: msttcorefonts on Fedora 8
Hi.
In a previous posting, I mentioned having problems with the msttcorefonts RPM. In particular, my lead question asked Has anybody successfully used the instructions at <http://corefonts.sourceforge.net> to build the msttcorefonts RPM? I should point out that I have successfully *built* the RPM. The problem is that xlsfonts doesn't seem to find the fonts this RPM has created, even though the font directory is in the font path and there is a valid fonts.dir file in the directory. Thanks once again. -- Art Werschulz (agw STRUDEL comcast.net) 207 Stoughton Ave Cranford NJ 07016 (908) 272-1146 |
