Why there is a 12.1 DVD to download?

I tried many mirrors, but found only CD images. Does it mean I have
to pay the money? But, as I remembered, 11.x and 12.0 provided free
DVDs.

Have you read the messages?

A quick glance shows a message that says Slackware won't bother with ISOs
(though maybe some mirrors will have it) since they use up too much
bandwidth, while having just the files means people can access the little
bits they need.

The unsaid bit is that if you can retrieve the files, then you can make
your own ISO.

Then you didn't try enough mirrors. The DVD-iso can be found on several
servers, heres some:
<URL: http://ftp.belnet.be/packages/slackware/slackware-12.1-iso/>
<URL: ftp://ftp.slackware.no/pub/linux/slackware/slackware-12.1-iso/>
<URL: ftp://ftp.fu-berlin.de/unix/linux/mirrors/slackware/slackware-12.0-iso/>
<URL: ftp://slackware.mirrors.tds.net/pub/slackware/slackware-12.1-iso/>

There are some mirrors with DVD images, for example
ftp://ftp.slackware.no/linux/slackwa...kware-12.1-iso

If you are after an ISO of the DVD, try -
ftp://mirror.pacific.net.au/linux/sl...nstall-dvd.iso

Thanks all of you. I am downloading :-) By the way, if possible, I
also would like to know, when I want to make my own DVD image, what
files should I go download and what's the suggested tool in slackware
to make the image file bootable.

If your using Kde, K3b is the one I use.
once you have downloaded the iso open K3b and go to tools
and select "burn dvd iso image". click on the iso you have saved and
go from there...the program will take care of the rest.
