In login shells mc is aliased to source the file /usr/share/mc/bin/mc-wrapper.sh which creates a file in /tmp and then calls mc with the -P option. This makes you exit in the current directory. For non-login shells you need to set the alias in your shells rc file (.bashrc .zshrc .cshrc or whatever). See the -P option in the mc man page. Steve |
