First error message from TrueCrypt

TrueCrypt6.0 installed without any apparent problems on openSUSE 10.3
However, the first time that I mounted an encrypted volume, it gave the
following error message:

Your system uses an old version of the Linux kernel.

Due to a bug in the Linux kernel, your system may stop responding when
writing data to a TrueCrypt volume. This problem can be solved by upgrading
the kernel to version 2.6.24 or later.

My openSUSE is running on 2.6.22.18-0.2-default

Any thoughts or similar experiences?

A thought might be to, uh, update the kernel.

I ain't never updated the kernel except for the ones that were done by
zypper. Is the process simple enough for a big dumb lizard to handle?

If you feel safer using zypper, there are more recent versions of the
kernel being maintained on the openSUSE Build Service. Keep in mind
these aren't official and I don't know how they do keeping up with the
security patches.
